Later, after receiving her Masters’ degree in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education from the University of Northern Colorado, her work with teaching English to newcomers in the community continued in the local public school district. After years of service to others and putting everyone else’s needs and desires before her own, in 2015 Katy took some time away from teaching and service to pursue her own passions and desires for life and the long-term impact she wants to leave on this world through online entrepreneurship. Out of these last three years of this pursuit, Katy has created and is building the A Mom That Matters brand, helping moms balance business, relationships and wellness.
We are just so happy to have Katy here with us, taking us through her journey! From meeting her husband, not even speaking the same language when they met, how she dealt with struggles and deep losses, and her experiences in perseverance, overcoming, AND… her top tip to moms trying to juggle it all! If you would like to connect with Katy, you can find her on Facebook, Instagram, and her website! Also find out more about Backpacks of Hope HERE and become a part of their awesome mission!
