Olivas. Lenina was born in Southern California. She received her MA in
Political Science from the University of Colorado in 2010. About three years
ago, Lenina started painting and made the shift from Political Science to
artist. She has exhibited her work along the Colorado Front Range and her home
studio is located in Loveland, Colorado. Her work has been reviewed in
Professional Artists Magazine and is currently on display in the Colorado State
Capitol. She has also been a featured guest on The Reset Podcast with Franklin
In 2018, she became the Gallery Director at the Lincoln
Gallery. She is actively involved in her community, adopted a highway in
Loveland, serves on the board of the Loveland Art Studio Tour as the Secretary,
the board for Art In The Park, and is a member of The Artist Collective.
Prior to becoming an artist she was a figure model and worked with a variety of artists in the surrounding states. She felt that being a model helped her to connect with artists, find the right art instructor, and understand the art world. Lenina didn’t set out to become an artist but she was called to it by the beautification and joy it brought to her life.
In this episode we chat about Lenina’s shift from Political Science to artist and what happens when you decide to listen to what you really want in life. Then, what happens when you start pursuing what you love.
Her work can be purchased at the Lincoln Gallery and Rabbask Design in downtown Loveland. Her wine series collection can be found at the Sweet Heart Winery in Loveland and at Blue Mountain Winery in Berthoud. On the world wide web she can be found on Redbubble, Fine Art America, YouTube, and on her website at LeninaOlivasFineArt.com. You can also follow her on Instagram or Facebook at Lenina Olivas Fine Art.
