You’re listening to episode number 90. Round Table Talk: Opening the Conversation About Suicide.

In this episode I get to talk in the round table setting with The We Spot leaders, Amy Norris and Heather Williams. We talk about both of their personal experiences with suicide and how it has shaped their lives and the lives of those they love. We also talk about how to have a conversation with someone about suicide and identifying the warning signs of someone who could be suicidal. Seeking out additional training, education, and awareness in this area is highly encouraged. It is all of our jobs to prevent suicide and be informed so we can intervene when needed!

I will give a trigger warning for this episode. There could be things talked about that may be hard to hear. If it is too much for you, I encourage you to reach out and talk with someone about it and use the resource list we have provided in the show notes. If you have thoughts of suicide and are thinking of killing yourself, please call the National Suicide Prevention hotline at 1-800-273-8255 or call 911.

Thank you for joining us in this conversation. One of the most important things we can do to prevent suicide is to normalize the conversation and destigmatize mental health care.
